Euphorbia griffithii ‘Fireglow’, backlit somewhat.
Wild parsnip. Be careful. I’ve still got scabs on my ankle from mowing this stuff down along the roadside a couple weeks ago. It’s not giant hogweed. But it’ll make you blister.

My scanning efforts to make bloom day deadlines were pretty lame. So I thought I’d do a couple more with some buds I found this morning. (Lame x 2 = OK?)
I broke down and did a quick scan this morning during the lull between the storms. Lunaria and bittersweet. Lots of my favorite grasses and perennials still standing in their tan and brown glory. But little in the way of bright colors we associate with ‘blooms’.
Not too much color in the landscape as the light continues to retreat. But the bittersweet does provide a smudge of orange that glows as you approach it in the late afternoon. (Apologies for the PaintShopPro ‘jaggies’.) Better consider this my bloom day post for December. Will try to get back to the scans in January.
Things are busy. Not much time to post. But here are a couple of pictures from last weekend with some fall color, which is late and mediocre this year.
