Bouquets

Organic groupings — lately composed digitally but older ones arranged right on the platen.

jimmy's bouquet

Bouquet for Jimmy
(December 2024)

While I was walking the dogs around a nearby field, stuffing weeds, invasives and the like into an old ornamental gourd I found, Jimmy Carter died. First president I voted for. Still my favorite.

(Foxtail, milkweed, multiflora rose, bittersweet, nightshade and more. Photoshopped in the foxtail and milkweed, but the rest is an actual bouquet.)

tulip arrangement

Cinco de Mayo fireworks
(May 2024)

Half of a 4-square makes a nice bouquet sometimes.

daff bouquet

Old school daffs
(April 2024)

Peak daffodil season. This is an old-school scan where I actually arranged the stems on the scanner platen.  No Photoshop involved.

iris and snowdrops

Katy and friends
(March 2024)

Iris ‘Katharine Hodgkin’ and a fancy snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis ‘Flore Pleno’ I think) from some early spring weekend doodles.

Early Bloomers
(February 2024)

Still too cold to do fresh scans, though ephemerals are blooming early outside. So I used last year’s scans to create this bouquet that also morphed into a 4-square and a mandala.

daffs in mason jars with cherry branches
Daffodil Daze 2 (April 2021)

Daffodil Daze 2
(April 2021)

Recently rediscovered this work from a few springs back that only ever got shared on Instagram. My favorite tattoo artist told me she loves that medium because the pigments stay where she puts them. I feel the same away about arranging flowers in virtual canning jars.

hellebores
Hellebore bouquet (Aoril 2023).
spring ephemerals and other treasures
Willow and ephemeral bouquet (March 2023). Fodder for a mandala, too.
gray day wallpaper
Ephemeral and hellebore bouquet (April 2023). Part of a larger tessellation.

Daffodil Daze (April 2018)
Tulips et al, later used as cover for The Vegetarian (May 2013)
