Bluegrass Lane Open Houses July 25 and 26
Come visit the flower research and demonstration area at the Department of Horticulture’s Bluegrass Lane Research facility, featuring more than 1,000 varieties of perennial and annual flowers — many new or just coming onto the market.
Everyone is welcome from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 25 and 26. Bluegrass Lane is located off Warren Rd. near the Robert Trent Jones golf course northeast of campus. (See map.)

Bloom day scans
Update [7/15/2009]: I always forget to mention that you should try scanning yourself. It’s easy. I have an activity for children and youth with instructions for how to scan flowers over at The Bulb Project website.
A little early this month. Thanks, as usual, to Carol at May Dreams for hosting.

Becky in Spain
I like to travel vicariously. (See Nate’s China pix.) This summer, niece Becky is in Spain doing crow research. Even though she’s not a plant person, she sent back pix that make me think I should go live there. Tile roofs. Roses. Old world Mediterranean landscapes.
Becky: Please send more.
