Some nice light last night, so I tried to shoot some plants that I’ve found hard to shoot. Like some humorous stories, with certain plants, you just have to be there.
Molinia ‘Skyracer’ (I think. Could be ‘Skywalker’.)

Pitcher plant (Sarracenia purpurea?)
Are those pitcher plants native to upstate NY? They like wet soil, right?
I do believe they are natives. I’ve got them in a pot in the shallows of the water garden.
I got these from Jerry Yeager, a regular in the ACNARGS group. He brought some to one of our plant exchanges a few years ago and sells at the Ithaca plant sale at the high school in May.
He assured me (and I believe it now) that these are rugged little plants. I’ve kind of neglected these and they have multiplied and filled out the pot.
Nice photos, Craig. I have a passalong fleece flower, not sure it’s the same as yours, but I didn’t even know what it was. Thanks for posting yours – now I am closer to knowing what I have.
