A couple of fare-to-middlin’ frosts. It’s starting to feel like fall, what with moving pots to shelter and bulb- and garlic planting.
Water garden in morning sun with mist rising off beaver pond.
The (mostly) grass border along the north edge of the veggie garden.
Wish I remembered the cultivar on this grass.
My favorite mixed container this year. Looks better now that I pulled it out of the weeds.
The first frosts are usually not too destructive. I like the way first frost enhances many things, such as the dahlia bloom.
First frost pics make me shiver. Fortunately we should not see that until mid November, I hope.
Beautiful! Those phlomis are so cool all year long, aren’t they? We were up in the high peaks so missed seeing our garden in frost, but we’ll see it again tomorrow morning. I planted 2 pass-along dahlias late, and the buds haven’t opened–guess we’ll miss them this year.
