My recollection is that I won this eranthis as a door prize at a rock garden meeting a few years ago. It’s different from most, I think due to t those sorta tubular petal-like thingies near the anthers. (Apologies for the technical language there.)

More bulb season yet to come …
We’ve had a couple of nice days with temps ~60. Yesterday, dozens of bees were working the Iris reticulata, an invitation to sit down and take some pix:
The on-going march of ephemerals …
I think bulbs lose some of their charm on bare ground, as opposed to coming up through leaves:
The purples beat the yellows by a nose.
Cold weather (it was 10 F here this morning) has slowed down the march of spring ephemerals. But over the weekend I caught the blooiming patch of .Iris reticulata in the morning light.
