I used the same time-lapse technique <a href=\"http:\/\/www.remarc.com\/craig\/?p=733\">that I used in this post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"500\" height=\"281\"><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=6503502&amp;server=vimeo.com&amp;show_title=1&amp;show_byline=1&amp;show_portrait=0&amp;color=00ADEF&amp;fullscreen=1\"><\/param><ibed type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\"><\/ibed><\/object><a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/6503502\">Sod sofa in 60 seconds<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/user2278755\">Cornell Horticulture<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\">Vimeo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hort.cals.cornell.edu\/cals\/hort\/people\/faculty.cfm?netId=me14\">Marcia Eames-Sheavly<\/a>\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hort.cornell.edu\/art\/\">Art of Horticulture<\/a> class \u00e2\u20ac\u201d with the assistance of turf specialist <a href=\"http:\/\/hort.cals.cornell.edu\/cals\/hort\/people\/faculty.cfm?netId=fsr3\">Frank Rossi<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.plantations.cornell.edu\/\">Cornell Plantations<\/a> staff \u00e2\u20ac\u201d spent the afternoon of September 8 creating a sod sofa in the pond area of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.plantations.cornell.edu\/our-gardens\/arboretum\">F.R. Newman Arboretum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cornell.edu\/hort\/files\/2009\/09\/sofa_donex500.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.cornell.edu\/hort\/files\/2009\/09\/sofa_donex500.jpg\" alt=\"Sod sofa in Cornell Plantations arboretum.\" title=\"Sod sofa in Cornell Plantations arboretum.\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-464\" width=\"500\" height=\"271\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Students raked and shoveled to shape the sofa in a slope near the pond\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s edge. Then under Frank\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s tutelage put the sod in place. In 2007 and 2008, the class built <a href=\"http:\/\/hort.cals.cornell.edu\/cals\/hort\/news-events\/sod_sculpture.cfm\">sod sculptures at Bluegrass Lane<\/a> Turf and Landscape Research Facility adjacent to the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cornell.edu\/hort\/files\/2009\/09\/sofa_done_laying_sodx500.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.cornell.edu\/hort\/files\/2009\/09\/sofa_done_laying_sodx500.jpg\" alt=\"Art of Horticulture students laying sod.\" title=\"Art of Horticulture students laying sod.\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-465\" width=\"500\" height=\"440\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Update [9\/29\/09]: Cornell Chronicle article.
