Today, he finished up the job installing two more gates, one with an apple theme.<\/p>\n<p>The arch echoes the living apple arches in the garden &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/applegate_arch1x1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/applegate_arch1x500.jpg\" alt=\"applegate\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Close observers will notice seven famous apples among the branches. The first needs no introduction. Maybe you can guess the others?<br \/>\n<a href=\"images\/applegate_serpentx1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/applegate_serpentx500.jpg\" alt=\"applegate\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s the apple for the teacher, complete with bookworm.<br \/>\n<a href=\"images\/applegate_bookwormx1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/applegate_bookwormx500.jpg\" alt=\"applegate\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>William Tell&#8217;s apple &#8230;<br \/>\n<a href=\"images\/applegate_wmtellx1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/applegate_wmtellx500.jpg\" alt=\"applegate\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sleeping Beauty&#8217;s poison apple &#8230;<br \/>\n<a href=\"images\/applegate_sbx1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/applegate_sbx500.jpg\" alt=\"applegate\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Newton&#8217;s apple (which I wish Durand had suspended halfway to the ground) &#8230;<br \/>\n<a href=\"images\/applegate_newtonx1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/applegate_newtonx500.jpg\" alt=\"applegate\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Johnny Appleseed&#8217;s apple with seeds exposed &#8230;<br \/>\n<a href=\"images\/applegate_johnnyx1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/applegate_johnnyx500.jpg\" alt=\"applegate\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And for our downstate friends, The Big Apple.<br \/>\n<a href=\"images\/applegate_bigx1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/applegate_bigx500.jpg\" alt=\"applegate\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Durand also worked in anatomically correct details of different life stages including flowers &#8230;<br \/>\n<a href=\"images\/applegate_flowerx1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/applegate_flowerx500.jpg\" alt=\"applegate\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And immature fruit &#8230;<br \/>\n<a href=\"images\/applegate_immfruitx1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/applegate_immfruitx500.jpg\" alt=\"applegate\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Watching Durand and his competent crew at work was a lot of fun. Durand cut away the transport frame &#8230;<br \/>\n<a href=\"images\/applegate_remove_framex1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/applegate_remove_framex500.jpg\" alt=\"applegate\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The crew manuvered the arch into place &#8230;<br \/>\n<a href=\"images\/applegate_install1x1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/applegate_install1x500.jpg\" alt=\"applegate\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And added finishing touches.<br \/>\n<a href=\"images\/applegate_install2x1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/applegate_install2x500.jpg\" alt=\"applegate\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Even the ground plate has artsy details.<br \/>\n<a href=\"images\/applegate_platex1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/applegate_platex500.jpg\" alt=\"applegate\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s lots of bench space at Minns Garden.
