On the boat with my sister Cheryl and wife Elly &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/on_norris.jpg\" alt=\"cheryl, craig, elly\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With Cheryl and Alex after a good morning of striper fishing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/stripersx1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/stripersx500.jpg\" alt=\"striper catch\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Back home, it&#8217;s midsummer and there are lots of great <a href=\"http:\/\/www.remarc.com\/craig\/?p=417\">serendipitous plant combos<\/a> to enjoy, in the wet garden &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/bog_gardenx1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/bog_gardenx500.jpg\" alt=\"wet garden\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; and front garden.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/hosta_astilbex1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/hosta_astilbex500.jpg\" alt=\"wet garden\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Enough plant material to do <a href=\"http:\/\/www.remarc.com\/craig\/?p=420\">bloom day scans<\/a> in four different color schemes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/july_scan_pinkx1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/july_scan_pinkx500.jpg\" alt=\"wet garden\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Out in the garden, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.remarc.com\/craig\/?p=422\">lilies<\/a> &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/stargazer_beex1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/stargazer_beex500.jpg\" alt=\"wet garden\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The rusty favorite, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.remarc.com\/craig\/?p=423\">Digitalis ferruginea<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/d_ferruginea4x1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/d_ferruginea4x500.jpg\" alt=\"wet garden\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Exploring <a href=\"http:\/\/www.remarc.com\/craig\/?p=424\">backlighting<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/bl_grassex1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/bl_grassex500.jpg\" alt=\"wet garden\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lots of gaudy flowers to shoot.  Hibsicus at Cornell Plantations &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/cornplant_hibx1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/cornplant_hibx500.jpg\" alt=\"weekend pix\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Filipendula.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/fili_pink_cux1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/fili_pink_cu_altx500.jpg\" alt=\"weekend pix\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lily<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/bh_orangelilycux1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/bh_orangelilycux500.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Plus my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.remarc.com\/craig\/?p=429\">15 minutes of fame<\/a> in USA Weekend.<\/p>\n<p><strong>August<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jade rolling under a double rainbow &#8217;bout sums up my feelings about August.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/rainbow2x1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/rainbow2x500.jpg\" \/><br \/>\nLarger image.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>They say things start slowing down in the garden in August.  Can&#8217;t say I&#8217;ve noticed that. The pace does start to slow in September.  But it&#8217;s still one of the best times of year in these parts, if not the most floriferous.<\/p>\n<p>The colors are more subtle, like this anemone.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/anemone_violetx1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/anemone_violetx500.jpg\" alt=\"purples and violets\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My favorite <a href=\"http:\/\/www.remarc.com\/craig\/?p=468\">bloom day scan<\/a> featured grasses, not blooms.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/sept_grass2x1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/sept_grass2x500.jpg\" alt=\"sept bloom day scans\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I featured my four (that&#8217;s a stretch) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.remarc.com\/craig\/?p=465\">water gardens<\/a> in the month&#8217;s Garden Bloggers Design Workshop.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/night_fish2x1200.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/night_fish2x500.jpg\" alt=\"water garden stuff\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And on a rainy day, I discovered <a href=\"http:\/\/www.remarc.com\/craig\/?p=474\">blingee<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/blingee_sept_scan3.gif\" alt=\"blingee from scans\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>October<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>October is the month of frost and fall color.
