This is in September, and the red stems keep it looking good even after the most of the orangish blossoms have faded.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/euphorbia.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/euphorbiax500.jpg\" alt=\"Euphorbia something or other\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ironweed and cleome by the driveway.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/ironweed_et_al.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/ironweed_et_alx500.jpg\" alt=\"Ironweed and cleome \" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I often give smallish perennials a year in a container and then transplant them in the fall.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/perennial_container.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/perennial_containerx500.jpg\" alt=\"Perennials in container\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I think I really like <em>Sanguisorba<\/em>.  Didn&#8217;t even give it the time of day until reading Oudolf.  I think I&#8217;ll like it better once I get a decent drift of it going.  (I think I&#8217;d like the picture better if it were in focus.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"images\/sanguisorba.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/sanguisorbax500.jpg\" alt=\"Sanguisorba\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some of the better performers in what amounts to a bog garden in wet years:  <em>Eupatorium<\/em>, <em>Veronicastrum<\/em>, turtlehead.
