Cotton candy: Filipendula rubra ‘Venusta’

I don’t like pink all that much. But every year I wait for Filipendula rubra ‘Venusta’ to bring back memories of cotton candy at the fair.

  1. i generally hate pink, but I love the ones you gave us blooming their heads off in the ditch! cotton candy is a wonderful thing.

  2. I love Jim’s commetn, so true. The scent of this plant is glorious, but that puffy Barbie-esque froo froo blooming stuff is over the top for this native gardener. Only color worse than pink is orange.

  3. Give me color! Pink, Orange, Purple, Red, Green, Yellow, yes, and now, mix ’em all up and stick ’em in a meadow all in a long tumbled tussled be’bedded luxurious mob. I am a gypsy in my heart, and Venusta is my Muse! I love this plant. I am not fond of cotton candy, pink is not my color, but in a garden, all bets are off, and I am GREEDY! for any color on Nature’s pallet! Wonderful pictures, thank you!
