Garden bloggers bloom day: September scans

In the 30s here last night.  It looks and feels like fall outside, and everything looks (as jug band musicians say) ragged but right on the scanner.

Whites, including Sorbaria (reblooming again this year), Eryngium yuccafolium, Eupatorium purpureum ‘Joe White’, Artemisia, Miscanthus.

sept scan

Dahlia, Solidago.

Aconitum, Ligularia, Physostegia, Achillea, Lantana, Chelone, Verbena bonariensis.

Ditto above with some wild Eupatorium thrown in.

  1. It does look like fall on your scanner bed. I can’t believe it’s already down into the 30s at night. Brrr! You still have a pretty collection of blooms though.

  2. Hi there,

I have been late this month with my GBBD post too 🙂 So, I have decided to work my way through from the last comments upwards on Carol’s post.

I love these scannning photos you do – you have an eye for colour and texture 🙂

  3. I love these scans–and the way you arrange them so artistically on the scanner. The white one is my favorite, but for some reason I really like the dahlia and goldenrod pairing, too.

I keep considering growing monkshood… I’m not scared away by the “poisonous” label, but I am worried about its supposed fussiness. Any tips, or can you at least tell me where you’ve sited yours?

  4. Lovely scans, like Kim, I like the first one best but then I am rather fond of white flowers. 😉 It’s good to see that there are still quite a lot of blooms in your garden. I have some in mine too if your interested; my blooms are up too!

  5. Hi Craig – how’d I miss this post? What a fine collection of plants for September in the North. I confess to a fondness for that first scan, too – and it was fun to imagine them as part of an outdoor wedding ceremony. [Although if the ragweed is as bad in NY as it is in TX, the bride would sneeze her way down the aisle.]

When Philo & I caught the end of Letterman last night , we saw the rerun of Gogol Bordello singing wanderlust king – on too late for you I’d bet!
