Garden bloggers bloom day

No time for scans today. Still slim pickings here, what with our (relatively) cold spring. Eranthis is the only thing you can really say is in flower.

Though Iris histrioides ‘Katharine Hodgkin’ isn’t far behind. (Snowdrops so far have been reluctant to open fully.)

Same clump early this morning.

Actually, my favorite image from the shoot:

  1. I love these shots! You were on your belly on the chilly ground no doubt 🙂 beautiful selective focus. Last year I stumbled on a whole yard full of Eranthis, the first color of the long gray (but 14th-warmest on record) winter, and just burst into tears, it was so welcome, and also jolting that we had in fact been here that long! Yeah,it was a blog post I didn’t write. The same yard this year still looks great, but that was a one-time reaction.
