Too many things blooming to fit them all on one scanner bed, so here are the blooms from the cool side of the color wheel, more or less. (The warm blooms are here.)
I did them with a dark and light background. Take the poll below to let me know which you like best. Click on images for a larger view.

I’d use the dark but then lighten the shadows.
They’re seriously gorgeous in any event. S
I don’t have PhotoShop at home where I scan. So these aren’t ‘retouched’. I don’t like the way PaintShopPro’s algorithims handle resizing and level adjustments.
I think the black concentrates your focus on the object as it stands out from the background. Maybe a better way to make the background truly white or light is to use a photo editing program, select the background and paint it whatever color you want, in this case white. Then you wouldn’t be able to see the material you used and also the white would be truly white instead of being a gray.
Great selection of gorgeous flowers.
I like how the flowers look on the white… cool scan!
I prefer the light background with the cool colors but the dark background looks pretty good with the warm colors. I really like yellows and reds together. Very dramatic looking. You have a lot blooming.
Ki: I’ll try to reverse the background to white on my work machine tomorrow. But I suspect that background affects how the flowers themselves render into pixels. It will be interesting to see. If it works, I’ll post the results.
take me to your mosh pit(s)!
