How bad is this going to stink?

Just in time for the holidays, I’ve got my first Amorphophallus (don’t know the species) about to flower. So how bad is this going to stink?

I keep a few pots around because I love the foliage. Now I’m wondering if I’ll have the same love for the flower. Chances are good I’ll move it to the office Friday and let it ride out the putrid period while no one is around over the holidays.

  1. I’m pretty sure you’re right on the A. konjac. But can I make it ’til Thursday to get it to the office before it starts reeking.

  2. Cool! Is that the one where the flower looks like a lung? (there was one that did in the LHB conservatory). Nice alliteration with “putrid period.” Have fun with it!

  3. Smelling like the trash after a kegger isn’t a bug. It’s a feature.

I’m probably going to chicken out tonight and cut it off and scan it before it stinks up the place.

  4. completely off topic (so remove after you read, won’t hurt my feelings a bit)

One of your submissions made finalists for Yard of the Year in the Yard Art Game, come over and vote for yourself. If you don’t toot your own horn, who will?
