Your round up from cruising the garden this weekend …
Geranium
Tradescantia
Closer
Another bulb I’ll have to check my records on. An allium? Scilla peruviana.
Less fuzzy shot of firecracker flower, or as Chad reminded me, Dichelostemma ida-maia
Peonies on their way down. (They’re all the way down after today’s rains.)
Beautiful.
where does trandescantia like to grow? i put some in last year and i’m not sure its in the right place. i’ve read/heard partial shade, but i think my partial shade would be a relative black out to other gardeners… maybe the best question to ask is what do you have yours planted near? hostas, bleeding hearts, astilbe (full shade)? coneflower, blackeyed susan, delphinium (full sun)? or roses, lilium, bee balm (partial sun but not really shade)? thanks!
love the ant on the peonies! that’s how you know your peonies are healthy, when they’re covered with ants:)
On the mystery bulbs, my guess would be Scilla peruviana for the blue-flwrd, which bloomed earlier in my garden this year too, and the fiery red number looks like dichelostemma, the Firecracker flower.
Beautiful flowers! It is an exciting time for gardeners in the spring time! We are waiting for the flowers to grow =) Thank you for nice pictures of your lovely flowers! I wish you a nice weekend!
